"That Woman!" || Harry and Ginny

“Yeah, just all over. No, no need. I’ll be fine in just a minute,” She smiled reassuringly, allowing Harry to lift her to her feet. A wave of dizziness overcame her. What’s wrong with me? She tried not to show Harry how she was feeling and she just stood for a moment, trying to concentrate on what he was saying. “Yeah, a walk would be lovely. I can get the water later,” She smiled and took Harry’s hand, glad she didn’t stumble, but still feeling slightly off balance.

Harry smiled as she took his hand, but his smile faltered when she seemed a little unsteady. “Ginny?” He asked, his brow furrowed. He took her arm supporting her weight. “Whats wrong love?”

“It’s okay to be emotional, especially considering the stress you’re under Gin, besides, what am I here for? I have to be useful for something right?” He asked winking. He laughed lightly as he brought her in for a hug once more.

“On her foot? Oh I bet she loved that” he said laughing, “nice one! And I really do love your hair. It’s so warm. It’s cozy and it’s you. It’s beautiful.”

Harry heard her exclaim in pain and he jerked upright, his frantic eyes searching her face for signs of discomfort. “What’s wrong?!” He exclaimed.

——

“Oh yeah, like you’re not useful,” She smiled, kissing him on the cheek. “I tried to do it as hard as I could, seeing as she was pushing me out the door. My hair’s warm?” Laughs. “Thanks love,”

“It’s nothing,” She grimaced, rubbing her head. “My head’s just hurting is all,”

"Hurting?" He asked concerned still. "Hmm maybe we should get you a glass of water, if it’s a headache anyway. Oh! Or Hermione might know a spell? I’d suggest Luna, she knows how to heal, but sometimes her spells go… Well fruity to put it mildly…" He laughed lightly as he stood up, pulling her to her feet gently. "Let’s get out of this cold corridor ey? Maybe go for a walk outside? Get some fresh air to clear our heads. Unless you wana head straight to get some water or soemthign then we can go for a walk later." He offered smiling as he took her hand in his.

Damn that woman!

Draco stormed out of room and made his way to the Astronomy tower. He banged his fist harshly into the concrete, creating it to bleed furiously, one tear rolled down his cheek. He couldn’t believe how he allowed this pest to get to him like this. He couldn’t believe how for once he couldn’t fight back, how she insulted his family, that’s what hurt him most. And how she mocked him. Going nude to the ball, how desperate could someone get to picture a student like that. Telling him how he was just sat there, powerless, waiting to die. Those exact words worked up Draco’s temper again, he yelled and hit the concrete and kicked a lose piece of metal before he pressed his back against the cold concrete and slid down dropping his head in his hands and sobbing faintly. Making sure no one could hear him. His heart was pierced by her words, his brain numb from everything, she was right. His family was in the gutter, he was powerless, he was waiting to die. No one would care if he did anyways. He felt such a strong urge to slice his wrist again, but that conversation he and Potter had a few days ago stopped him from doing so, he was afraid to send an owl to him, asking him to come and help him, but he didn’t want the great Boy Who Lived seeing him, the fallen Death Eater like this.

Harry left his stuff with Ron and Hermione in the Gryffindor Common room and ran out of it, he ran down the corridors and all the way to the Astronomy tower, pausing only for quick breaks to catch his breath. He made it to the stairs and panted. “Draco!” He yelled, worry filling his voice. He began to climb the chairs, breathing heavily as he did so. “Draco!” He yelled again.

Harry climbed the last few steps, bile rising up in his throat. He wasn’t cut out for such a long fast paced journey. “Draco,” he breathed out, stumbling over to the Slytherin on the floor. He jogged the rest of the way and coughed, still breathing hard. Slumping down on the wall next to Draco he just waited for a moment, the two sat in silence with Dracos soft whimpers echoing around the tower room.

"Draco, what’s wrong? What happened?" Harry asked worried. He patted Draco’s arm tentatively wondering if the gesture would be appreciated or hated. Harry noticed Draco’s bleeding hands and drew his wand, casting the same healing spell he had with Ginny earlier in the day. "It’ll bruise but that should be better," he said gently. Watching teh boy carefully.

She sighed heavily for what seemed like the hundredth time. “I’m sorry Harry….I’ve been really emotional lately and it’s not fair to you. I know that she is that way, but it doesn’t really change what she said, it could’ve been anyone and I’d have the exact same reaction.” She smiles softy. “I stepped on her foot,” wish I could have done more. ”Lovely, this,” She holds out some of her hair. “Thanks, but..eh.” She responded to his hug, melting into him, running a hand through his messed up hair, wrapping her arms around his neck. “I’ll try too,” She smiled, but suddenly winced in pain. “Ouch!”

“I want bruises,” Ginny sniffled, leaning against Harry’s chest and closing her eyes. “She insulted you, asked me if I was wearing secondhand robes to the Yule Ball, said you and Hermione were sneaking around behind my back, called me Ginger, you know how I hate that, it was just awful. I want to wring her neck!” She spluttered, then sighed and looked down at her hands, which had slightly purple spots. Ginny smiled.

"Why do you want bruises? Don’t be silly Ginny…" He said, irritation creeping into his normally calm voice, why would she want to mar her skin? After all her skin was very nice… Blinking a moment as he was lost in a memory of a conversation with Ron he looked back at Ginny.
"She tries to get to you, y’know. She tries to get under your skin. She’s a horrible woman and really obnoxious. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised is the little beetle was spying on us now! That woman has no boundaries."
"And your ginger hair is lovely! By the way Rota hates me, she ain’t keen on Herms either. Just ignore what she says love." He hugged her tight.

Harry strolled down the corridor, checking his watch. He figured Rita would be done with Ginny by now and intended to surprise her. He knew how infuriating that woman could be and figured she could do with a bit of light-heartedness right now. He turned the corridor whistling a tune poorly when he saw her slumped down on the floor banging the wall. He tilted his head, his eyes widening in surprise as he processed the scene in front of him. “Ginny?” He called out as he begun jogging towards her. He crouched on the floor and pulled her close to him, regardless of the blood on her hands. “Ginny whats wrong?” He asked concern filling his tone.

When Ginny heard Harry calling her name, she burst out crying again. He took her in his arms and she buried her face in his neck. “Oh Harry! I know I shouldn’t let it get to me, but she’s just so-” She broke off, crying softly. Opening her eyes she noticed that her hands were bloody. “Harry, I’m so sorry, it’s all over the back of your shirt. I’m just so—” And that brought on another wave of tears. How she hated crying in front of people.

———-

"Oh don’t worry about that," he murmurered softly before pulling out his wand and healing her hands. "You should probably get someone else to heal those properly, my healing always leaves bruises." He brough her close to his chest and hugged her tight. "What did that woman say to you? She’s just foul"

Ginny stormed angrily out of the interviewing office, her eyes glinting.  She ran down the hall, not sure where she was going or where she would end up. The questions she asked?!  Ginny had been more offended at the Harry remarks than anything else, even more than the secondhand comment. The nerve of that woman. She didn’t care about them, obviously, she just wanted a juicy story. She leaned against the cool stone in an abandoned hallway, feeling the tears running down her cheeks before she could stop them. She banged one fist on the wall, relishing in how the sharp points in the rock bit into her flesh. She kept banging over and over, thinking that it would dull the pain from the words, and wondering why she even cared anymore.
